The Olympiacos’ coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, congratulated all those involved with the team advancing to the semis of the Stoiximan Basket League.
Olympiacos ‘crushed’ Peristeri on the road 92-57, and won the series 2-0, which gave him the ticket to the Stoiximan Basket League semis. The ‘reds’, who have the home court advantage, will be facing off against Promitheas Patras.
Giorgos Bartzokas said to believe that Olympiacos’ bad performance was due to ‘emotional drain’ after the final four.
Olympiacos, although far from his usual standards, bested Peristeri at the SEF 79-67, for the 1st day of the Stoiximan Basket League playoffs.
The Presidents of Olympiacos, Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos talked mainly about the emotions stirred in them by the presence of 12,000 ‘reds’ fans in the “Stark Arena”.
This season’s European journey for Olympiacos has come to its end and it was filled with intense emotions.
Olympiacos’ had wanted the win a lot for the sake of their fans, but didn’t make it. The ‘reds’ lost in the 3rd place game of the Final Four to Barcelona 84-74 and finished 4th in the post-season.
One day after the loss to Anadolu Efes, our team’s coach, Giorgos Bartzokas gave praise to the Olympiacos’ fans and … scolded Sasha Vezenkov.
Following the end of the Euroleague Final Four semi-final game against Anadolu Efes, Mr. Panagiotis and Mr. Giorgos Angelopoulos visited the ‘reds’ locker room.
Olympiacos failed to get the ticket to the final, however, our team’s coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, appeared to be certain that the ‘reds’ have returned to the highest level and are going to be staying there!
Olympiacos fought to the last second, but did not succeed in advancing to the Final Four final. The ‘reds’ lost to the reigning European Champion, Anadolu Efes, 74-71.
Today (18/05) has been a special one for Olympiacos, since three ‘reds’ were honored by the Euroleague!

Giorgos Barztokas appeared to be content from securing top seed in the regular season.
Olympiacos, who had already sealed first seed and the through and through home court advantage for the playoffs, beat Kolossos at the SEF 93-74 for the last day of the regular season of the Stoiximan Basket League and is now solely focusing on the Euroleague Final Four.
Olympiacos secured a through and through home court advantage with the win over Apollon, but refuses to relax though, since there is one more game for the Greek League to be played, this time against Kolossos.
Olympiacos bested Apollon in Patras 94-68 and sealed first seed for the Stoiximan Basket League’s regular season, meaning home court advantage for the ‘reds’ from the beginning to the end of the playoffs.
The painstaking games against Monaco were according to Giorgos Bartzokas the reason Olympiacos did not play up to their standards in the game against Ionikos.
Olympiacos bested Ionikos in Nikaia 86-78 and took one more step towards mathematically securing top seed in the regular season of the Stoiximan Basket League.
